Event Chef de Partie

Job Title: Event Chef de Partie

Reporting To: Sous Chef / Head Chef

Department: Kitchen

Job Purpose

We are seeking a passionate and talented Event Chef de Partie to join the culinary brigade of our award-winning 5-star luxury boutique hotel. Responsible for running a designated section within the events kitchen, you will deliver exceptional food experiences for weddings, private dining, corporate functions, VIP events and exclusive celebrations.

Working closely with the senior kitchen team, you will ensure every dish is prepared and presented to the highest standards, reflecting the hotel's commitment to excellence, creativity and outstanding guest service.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Excellence

  • Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently exceptional standard.
  • Take ownership of a designated section during event preparation and service.
  • Ensure all dishes meet established recipes, specifications and presentation guidelines.
  • Support the delivery of luxury banqueting, conference, wedding and private dining menus.
  • Assist in menu tastings and event preparation for VIP guests and clients.

Event Operations

  • Participate in the planning and execution of high-profile events ranging from intimate private dining experiences to large-scale banquets.
  • Ensure mise en place is organised and completed ahead of service.
  • Maintain smooth service during events while adhering to ticket times and service standards.
  • Adapt quickly to last-minute changes and special guest requirements.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, HACCP and allergen management.
  • Follow all food labelling, storage and stock rotation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and company policies at all times.
  • Keep workstations clean, organised and audit-ready.

Stock & Cost Control

  • Assist with ordering, stock management and inventory control.
  • Minimise wastage through responsible use of ingredients and effective stock rotation.
  • Monitor section mise en place and maintain agreed par levels.

Teamwork & Leadership

  • Support and mentor Commis Chefs and Demi Chef de Parties.
  • Foster a positive and professional kitchen culture.
  • Work collaboratively with the Events, Conference & Banqueting and Front of House teams.
  • Assist senior chefs in training and developing junior team members.

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie within a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant or premium events environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a passion for high-quality ingredients.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, allergen management and HACCP procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends and peak event periods.

Desirable

  • Experience in luxury banqueting, weddings or large-scale events.
  • Relevant Food Safety certification.
  • Experience working within AA Rosette, Michelin-recognised or 5-star hotel environments.
  • Knowledge of modern culinary trends and luxury hospitality standards.
