Our mission is to empower commercial and engineering teams with the tools and insights they need to scientifically measure and improve the performance of our platform. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, we strive to continuously improve our Experimentation Platform, providing a range of democratised experimentation capabilities used across hundreds of websites around the world. We develop custom software solutions for running AB tests and analysing experiment results. Additionally, we provide a user-friendly UI for self-served AB tests, enabling teams across the organization to iterate and optimize with ease.

 

 

The Role

As the Experimentation Lead within our Experimentation team, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end experimentation process, from designing and implementing AB tests to analysing results and communicating findings to stakeholders. You will lead a team of talented engineers, data scientists, and analysts in developing and managing our experimentation platform, as well as providing analysis and insights to support data-driven decision-making. With a focus on business growth, you will drive the direction and innovation of our experimentation efforts, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and usability of our platform.

 

 

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic vision for our experimentation platform, aligning with the goals and objectives of the organization.
• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for running AB tests and analyzing experiment results, leveraging React, Python, Java, and BigQuery.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, data scientists, and analysts, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
• Manage the performance, career development, and well-being of direct reports, conducting regular 1-2-1 meetings, performance reviews, and objectives setting.
• Collaborate with traders, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to identify experimentation opportunities and prioritize initiatives based on potential impact.
• Provide analysis and insights on experiment results, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions and measure the effectiveness of platform improvements.
• Drive best practices in experimentation, including experimental design, hypothesis testing, statistical analysis, and result interpretation.
• Ensure the stability, performance, and security of our experimentation platform, proactively addressing any issues or vulnerabilities.
• Communicate experiment findings and recommendations to stakeholders through presentations, reports, and other channels, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the organization.
• Participate in hiring and talent acquisition efforts to expand and strengthen the Experimentation team.

 

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
• Experience leading experimentation or data science teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Java, and SQL, with experience working with BigQuery or similar data warehousing technologies.
• Deep knowledge of experimental design, AB testing methodologies, hypothesis testing, statistical analysis techniques, and experimentation platforms.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex concepts and insights into clear and actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for experimentation, data-driven decision-making, and driving continuous improvement.
