The Role

As an experienced Delivery Manager, you will be an integral part of our project management team, responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of technical projects using a variety of methodologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:

· Manage the end-to-end delivery of projects, product enhancements and technology infrastructure change

· Build and maintain motivated delivery teams, including third party development resource, making sure there is an iterative plan to work towards

· Drive the team to work at pace, ensuring the team are working towards delivery commitments

· Ensure the team collaborates, communicates and focuses on what is most important

· Coach team members and others, facilitate continuous improvement and apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques for the environment

· Ensure all necessary cross-functional resources are identified and committed to the delivery plan. Communicate to ensure that all resources understand their roles and responsibilities

· Direct and motivate the delivery team to achieve the desired results, often using matrix management, and ensure effective communication is maintained throughout the project

· Facilitate conflict resolution, accelerating team performance

Essential Skills;

· Proven experience in a Delivery Manager or in a similar role, ideally within an ecommerce environment

· Uses influencing and communication skills to guide and motivate stakeholders through complex challenges and projects

· Comfortable in an ambiguous ever-changing environment

· Coach team and be able to influence with a key focus on improving teams' capability

· Collaborate at all levels and manage expectations

· Strong communicator, facilitator and influencer

· Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban

· Excellent leadership and communication skills

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Experience working alongside software development teams

· Experience working with APIs with an understanding of technical documentation

· Experience managing digital transformation projects

· Qualifications in Project management (APM/Prince2/AgilePM/PSM/MSP)

· Understanding of service transition approaches

 

Desirable Skills:

· Familiarity in dealing directly with technical functions including architecture, software development, test, release management, database, network, platform and IT operations

· An understanding and experience of a variety of test approaches (functional and non-functional)

· Working within a large IT function specialising in the delivery and management of complex projects

· Experience of the secure transfer and storage of sensitive data

· Experience of managing digital transformation projects or being part of large programmes of work

· Knowledge or experience of working with full end-to-end eCommerce lifecycles
