We are seeking a dynamic, commercially focused M&E Sales Office Manager to lead our high-achieving Meetings & Events (M&E) Sales team at King Street Townhouse Hotel & Spa.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality setting and is passionate about creating outstanding event experiences for our guests.
As Sales Office Manager, you will oversee our internal M&E and Wedding Coordinator team, driving revenue growth, enhancing profitability, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. You will manage daily sales operations, handling enquiries, converting leads, and ensuring your team consistently meets and exceeds key performance targets. Your priority will be to maintain superior service quality while expanding margins and fostering strategic business growth from both existing clients and new prospects.
Collaborating closely with the Director of Sales and General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping sales strategy and delivering top-tier results through teamwork and insight.
About the Role
In the role of Meeting & Event Sales Office Manager, you will be responsible for the daily management of our M&E Sales Office, leading a dedicated team of M&E and Wedding Coordinators to boost revenue across meetings, conferences, social events, and weddings.
Working in partnership with the Director of Sales and General Manager, you will develop strategic sales plans, cultivate new business opportunities, and maximise income from our existing client portfolio. You will ensure that every enquiry is handled with professionalism, every event is flawlessly executed, and every guest leaves eager to return.
This role blends sales leadership with operational excellence, inspiring your team, surpassing targets, and shaping the future of our M&E services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the M&E and Wedding Coordinator team to achieve and exceed revenue goals for meetings, conferences, events, and weddings.
- Oversee the full sales cycle from enquiry through to post-event follow-up, ensuring exceptional service and maximising upselling opportunities.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to attract new clients and grow existing accounts.
- Conduct regular market analysis, monitor competitor activity, and identify new revenue streams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and represent the hotel at exhibitions and show rounds.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Reservations, and Catering teams to guarantee smooth event execution and client satisfaction.
- Ensure all systems, procedures, and documentation comply with brand standards; familiarity with MEWS and Event Temple is preferred.
- Monitor team performance, provide training and development, and foster a culture of excellence.
- Training support and coaching is delivered appropriately and linked directly to performance objectives.
- Forecast and results are collated, reported and communicated, constructive and positive leadership is provided to drive those results.
About You
We are looking for a confident, commercially savvy leader who can positively drive sales performance, people management, and guest satisfaction with:
- Proven experience in M&E, Conference & Banqueting, and Wedding Sales within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for exceeding targets.
- Solid knowledge of event planning, sales systems (preferably Event Temple & MEWS), and current market trends.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering memorable experiences.
- The ability to motivate your team with enthusiasm, positivity, and a commitment to exceptional service.
- Expertise in lead conversion, account management, and meticulous attention to detail.
- A collaborative approach, driving a high-performing team culture.
- Composure and solution-focused thinking under pressure, even when managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, leading with integrity across all interactions.
- Exceptional organizational skills, managing systems, teams, and sales performance efficiently.
- A commercial mindset, understanding profit, conversion rates, and revenue strategies, using data to guide decisions.
- A keen awareness of local market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
- Proficiency in IT, including confident management of client data, reporting, and sales analytics.
