Payments Operations Manager - 9 Month FTC

Salary - £36k Pro Rata

The Payments Operations Manager is responsible for managing MID requests with payment providers across Group and Ingenuity, collaborating with project, account, and tech teams to ensure compliant payment method installations, and maintaining access controls and issue resolution. The role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders, promoting process improvements, supporting finance reconciliation, and adapting workload priorities. Essential experience includes strong analytical and communication skills, accuracy, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage and reprioritise tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all MID requests with the various payment providers across both Group and Ingenuity
  • Liaise with Project Management and Account Management teams across Ingenuity, educating on payment providers that are available and supporting with rates and use cases to allow clients to make informed decisions where THG is MOR
  • Liaise with 3rd party Ingenuity clients as and when necessary, providing introductions to THG payment providers where the client is MOR
  • Collaborate with Tech teams across the group, providing credentials as required for installation of payment methods on pre-live and live websites
  • Use various workflow management tools to check payment installations across new and existing websites, ensuring compliance with payment provider regulations and ASA/FCA standards
  • Ensure adherence with internal project plans whilst being responsive to urgent requirements from within the Group
  • Responsible for access and control across all payment provider portals, completing monthly access to checks to confirm users have access at the correct level for their role
  • Investigate and resolve any payment provider MID or performance issues on a timely basis, escalating internally when required
  • Create a culture of pro-active process improvement within the team specifically minimising manual and time-consuming processes and replacing with effective automatic controls
  • Liaise with payment providers and internal Finance teams regarding reconciliation queries
  • Operate flexibly as part of the wider payments team, providing support and solutions to other colleagues and team members

Experience

  • Good analytical skills
  • Payments background is desirable but not essential
  • Passion and enthusiasm to learn with a ‘can-do’, self-starting attitude
  • High level of inputting accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Able to organise own workload and to reprioritise at short notice to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, must be able to speak to internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner, representing the team and wider department
