About the Role
We’re looking for a People Advisor to join our Fulfilment Operations team in Manchester. This is an exciting step-up role for someone with a couple of years’ HR experience — maybe as an HR Assistant or Junior Advisor — who wants to take on more responsibility and grow fast.
You’ll be the go-to person on site for employees and managers, advising on everything from ER cases to engagement and development. Working alongside an experienced People Business Partner, you’ll get hands-on exposure across the full HR spectrum — with real autonomy, variety, and scope to shape your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for employee and manager queries, providing timely and accurate HR advice.
- Support the People Business Partner in the delivery of the site-level people plan and HR initiatives.
- Manage and support employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance cases.
- Coordinate end-to-end HR processes including onboarding, contract changes, leaver processing, and probation reviews.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and support regular audits and reporting requirements.
- Support engagement initiatives, employee communication, and wellbeing activities on site.
- Assist in the delivery of training and development initiatives, including coordination of learning events.
- Provide HR data and insights to support decision-making and identify trends or risks.
- Work collaboratively with other functions such as Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Health & Safety to ensure joined-up people support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and practices within the fulfilment operations.
- Support change projects including restructures, shift pattern changes, or policy updates.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a HR capacity - either in an advisory role or as a strong HR Assistant ready to step up.
- Strong knowledge of core HR processes and a basic understanding of UK employment law.
- Confident handling ER issues with support and guidance.
- Ability to build effective relationships and communicate clearly with people at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Desirable Qualifications
- CIPD Level 3 or working towards Level 5.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environments
