Food & Beverage Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Food & Beverage Assistant to join us at King Street Townhouse Hotel.

We are looking for a talented, passionate individual to join our team and create memorable guest experiences. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standard of professionalism in all areas of operation and carry out all duties to our world class standards.

Main Duties of the Role

  • Welcome guests, delegates, clients, and event attendees in a warm, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Set up and prepare event spaces and private dining areas to the required specifications.
  • Deliver high-quality food and beverage service during conferences, events, banquets, and restaurant operations.
  • Assist with the service of plated meals, buffets, refreshments, and banqueting functions, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery.
  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders while consistently demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Support event changeovers, room resets, and the preparation of function spaces throughout the day.
  • Manage guest queries and requests promptly and effectively, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Liaise with colleagues and other departments to ensure all event requirements are delivered seamlessly.
  • Upsell food, beverage, and event-related offerings where appropriate.
  • Ensure all conference and event spaces, service stations, and public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Comply with all company brand standards, health and safety regulations, food hygiene requirements, and licensing laws.
  • Be environmentally conscious and support sustainable working practices.
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain strong working relationships across the hotel.
  • Contribute to achieving departmental objectives and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within hospitality, food & beverage, conferences, events, banqueting, or a customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing event requirements.
  • Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and reliable.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced and diverse environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Desirable

  • 1+ years' experience within a 5-star hotel, luxury hospitality, conference, events, or banqueting environment.
  • Experience setting up and servicing meetings, conferences, weddings, private events, or large-scale banqueting functions.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hospitality service standards.
