Gym Assistant - King Street Townhouse Hotel

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Gym Assistant to join the team at King Street Townhouse Spa & Gym.

As a Gym Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our members throughout their fitness journey, maintaining exceptional standards across the gym environment, and delivering service that reflects our world-class reputation.

The Role:

You will be responsible for delivering an outstanding member experience whilst supporting the day-to-day operations of the gym floor. Your responsibilities will include:

• Playing an engaging and motivating role in supporting members throughout their fitness journey and 4-week onboarding programme
• Coaching, motivating and energising members during sessions and gym interactions
• Building strong member relationships to drive engagement, attendance and retention
• Delivering high-quality gym inductions for individuals and small groups (up to 4 people)
• Providing a visible, approachable presence on the gym floor, supporting members with exercise programmes and equipment use
• Prescribing and delivering safe, effective exercise programmes tailored to guest and member needs
• Maintaining exceptional standards across the gym environment, including equipment checks, studio preparation, cleanliness and fault reporting
• Responding professionally and proactively to member queries, concerns and feedback
• Attending team meetings, training sessions and ongoing development activities as required

About You:

• Minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification (Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification desirable)
• Previous experience working as a Gym Instructor, Fitness Coach or Personal Trainer
• Strong knowledge of exercise programming and safe fitness delivery
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, positive and member-focused approach
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Evidence of ongoing professional development within the fitness industry
• Flexibility to work across a rota including evenings, weekends and peak operational periods
